Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about delivery, returns, payment, assembly and choosing a garden shed, workshop or summerhouse. Can't find your answer? Contact us.
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery is free on every order to a UK address, with no minimum order value and no surcharge for large buildings or remote postcodes. Deliveries to the Scottish Highlands and islands, other UK islands and Northern Ireland can take a little longer; the courier confirms the day with you.
How long does delivery take?
Order cut-off time: 2:00 PM (UK time). Orders placed by 2:00 PM (UK time), Monday to Friday, start processing the same day. Processing takes 1 - 2 days (Monday to Friday) and delivery 2 - 4 days (Monday to Friday), so you receive your building within 3 - 6 days (Monday to Friday). The courier contacts you to confirm the delivery day.
How is my shed delivered?
Your building is delivered flat-packed on a pallet by a tracked pallet courier. It is a kerbside delivery: the driver unloads the packs at the kerbside or the end of your driveway, and carrying them into the garden is not included. A signature may be needed.
Do you deliver outside the UK?
No. We currently deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom only - England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
How can I track my order?
Use the link in your dispatch confirmation e-mail, our Track Your Order page, a universal tracker such as 17TRACK with your tracking number, or My Account > Orders.
What is your returns policy?
You can return an unused, unassembled building in its original packaging within 60 days of delivery for a full refund of the price or an exchange. This is in addition to your statutory 14-day right to cancel, and faulty, damaged or wrong items are always covered under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
How do I return a building and who pays for it?
E-mail us at contact@mavaroz.shop or use our contact form with your order number. We arrange a pallet collection and tell you the cost before booking: you pay the return delivery for change-of-mind returns, and we pay it for faulty, damaged or wrong items.
When will I get my refund?
We refund your original payment method within 5 - 10 days of receiving your return. Your bank may take a further 3 - 5 days (Monday to Friday) to show the credit.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
Is it safe to pay on your website?
Yes. Our checkout uses an encrypted HTTPS connection and payments are handled by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified provider. We never see or store your full card number.
Are there any extra charges at checkout?
No. The price shown on the product page is the total price you pay, in pounds sterling, with free UK delivery.
Do I need to assemble the shed myself?
Yes. Every building is supplied as pre-made flat-packed panels with all fixings, felt and step-by-step instructions. Allow from 2 - 3 hours for two adults for our smallest shed up to 8 - 10 hours for the largest workshops. We do not offer an assembly service.
What tools do I need for assembly?
A cordless drill/driver, a hammer, a spirit level, a tape measure, a craft knife for the roof felt and a step ladder. All screws, nails and felt nails are included.
Is a base included?
No. Every building needs a firm, level base slightly larger than its footprint, such as paving slabs, a concrete pad or a timber or plastic base system. The base is not included.
Do I need planning permission for a garden shed?
Most garden sheds and workshops of these sizes fall under permitted development in England, but rules differ in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, for listed buildings and conservation areas, and for outbuildings higher than 2.5 m within 2 m of a boundary. Please check with your local planning authority if you are unsure.
What is the difference between dip-treated and pressure-treated timber?
Dip-treated timber is coated with a water-based preservative for transit and should be treated with an exterior wood preservative within three months and then once a year. Pressure-treated timber has the preservative forced deep into the wood, protecting it against rot and insect attack without yearly re-treatment. Each product page says which treatment the building has.
What is the difference between overlap, tongue-and-groove and shiplap cladding?
Overlap boards simply overlap each other and are the most economical. Tongue-and-groove boards interlock for a tighter, stronger and more weather-resistant wall. Shiplap is a tongue-and-groove board with a profiled edge that helps rain run off each board.
Are the sizes exact?
Nominal sizes such as 8 x 6 ft are rounded. Each product page lists the actual external footprint in metres and feet, the ridge and eaves (or front and back) heights and the door opening, so you can check the building fits your space.
What glazing do the windows have?
Our storage sheds and workshops use shatter-resistant styrene safety glazing. Our summerhouses use 4 mm toughened safety glass in the doors and windows.
Is a padlock included?
Our sheds and workshops have a padlock hasp, but the padlock itself is not included, so you can choose the lock you prefer.
Are your buildings a well-known brand?
No. All our garden buildings are sold under our own Mavaroz name. Each product page lists the full specification so you can compare them with any other building.
